Key Characteristics
Finish: The black oxide process creates a matte to semi-gloss black finish (depending on the post-treatment sealant used), which reduces glare and gives the tool a “tactical” look.
Material: The underlying tool is made of durable 420HC stainless steel (and other stainless steel alloys), with the black oxide being a chemical conversion of the surface, not a thick coating like paint or plating.
