Victorinox soldier 1980 in really nice condition with the top of the blade bend.

The year was 1980, and the Swiss Army, ever prepared, issued its soldiers a formidable companion: the 93mm Soldier Swiss Army Knife. This iconic tool, a testament to Swiss craftsmanship, boasted a ribbed alox body, a testament to its durability, and a proud “1980” etched onto the blade tang.

These knives, born in that year, carried distinct hallmarks. A hollow rivet whispered of their lineage, while a cunning notch graced the bottle opener, a testament to the ingenuity of their design. And there, on their sturdy frames, a square box awaited the coveted Waffenkontrolle inspection stamp, a mark of official approval.

But even among these distinguished soldiers, a subtle rivalry existed. The Victorinox models, gleaming with polished blades, exuded an air of sophistication. In contrast, the Wenger knives, cloaked in a matte finish, possessed a rugged charm, their blades devoid of the telltale striations of their polished counterparts.

These knives, each a masterpiece in its own right, served their country faithfully, a testament to Swiss precision and a symbol of the unwavering spirit of the Swiss Army.
